Broome lies on sheltered Roebuck Bay with Cable Beach northwest of the town center. Cable Beach, 11 miles of blue waters and white sand is a favorite destination. Camels are an added attraction for beach treks.

Not to be missed is the Bungle Bungle Range in the World Heritage listed Purnululu National Park, and Lake Argyle – large enough to be classified as an inland sea. A little further south is the Pilbara – famous for its rich red earth and the rocky landscape of Karijini National Park.
