The Plaza Hotel Curacao is a perfect base camp for exploring the island. This cozy Van der Valk hotel is situated at the mouth of the harbor in the heart of colorful Willemstad. Having enjoyed one of our delicious buffets accompanied by live-music, an after-dinner drink in our Toucan's Nest Bar, you will be overwhelmed by the sight of passing cruise ships as they sail by the hotel through the harbor on their way to new tropical destinations. Most of our rooms offer a fantastic view over the sea or downtown Willemstad. The most spectacular view is of course from our Penthouse situated on the 14th floor.

Water Fort Restaurant
At this charming restaurant next to the Pool you may choose to sit outside or inside in the air-conditioned area. Our extensive breakfast buffet is served here every day between 7.30 and 10 a.m. serving fresh fruit, a choice of juices, fried eggs, a variety of cold cuts, yogurt, freshly baked bread and lots more. In the middle of the day lunch is served here and in the evenings there is a choice of dining à la Carte or partake of one of our many theme buffets ranging from Caribbean to Indian delicacies. Whichever you decide, live music will accompany your meal and add to your enjoyment.
Pool Bar
As the name implies, this bar is Poolside. Enjoy a delicious Caribbean cocktail, a cold beer or freshly squeezed juice in the shade of the bamboo palms. Or ask one of our friendly waiters to bring your drink right to your lounger. The Pool bar is open daily from 8.00 until 17.00 hours.
Toucan's Nest
This grass-roofed bar is the place to be - in the evenings after dinner, after a glorious day of sunbathing or to rest out after a day of touring the island. The Toucan's Nest is right alongside the water. There's a splendid view over the Caribbean and because the bar is situated right at the entrance of the Santa Anna Bay, you can enjoy the ships sailing by. Departure of the cruise ships will be the highlight of your evening, not just because these are real giants of the seas, but also because of the impressive firework display. The Toucan's Nest is open between 17.00 and 01.00 hours.
Fort Wall
On the old fortress wall that is now part of the hotel, special evenings with live music are arranged. Capture the atmosphere of days gone by; the cannons are witness to the fort's defensive history. The bar is situated at the very end of the fort wall, right at the harbor entrance. From here you have a wonderful view of the Pontoon bridge and the Otrabanda area.
As icing on the cake, a salsa or meringue band will perform, enticing you out onto the dance floor.
"Le Tournesol"
Our Penthouse restaurant Le Tournesol is situated at the top of our tower block overlooking Willemstad and the Caribbean Sea. A Champagne Brunch is served here every Sunday. The most delicious dishes will be served buffet-style. Not only will you be high above the rest but our culinary delights are tiptop too! Le Tournesol may also be reserved for private parties, weddings or business meetings.

Entertainment
Pool
The pool, situated in the heart of the hotel, is the central meeting place for our guests. Here you can enjoy a relaxed day of sunbathing. The lounge chairs are all lined up and the bar is open throughout the day ready for whenever you want to eat or drink something. There is a special wading pool for children, complete with water toys. Next to the children's pool is a playground, so while the children play parents can relax. Darts, billiards and a game of chess on our life-size chessboard are all available for your enjoyment around the pool.
Entertainment
Our "Fun in the Sun" entertainment team will ensure a great vacation on Curacao. During the initial information meeting there will be a few tips on the hotel in general and our extensive tour program will be explained to you. A sample of our many excursions is as follows: there are 4 different trips with our own boat, the Toucan II, a canoe and jeep safari, an island tour, and a city walking tour including a visit to the Maritime museum, etc.
Evening entertainment is a must. Besides our theme-buffets, which are accompanied by live music, delightful evenings in our Toucan's Nest offer fun-quizzes, dance music, Karaoke and lots more. Once a week there's also a Salsa lesson. If you want to swing with the rest of the island then this is the place to start.
Casino
Adjoining the hotel Lobby on the ground floor you will find the Casino, open daily to both hotel guests and visitor's alike, from early morning until late at night. If you want to take your chances with Lady Luck, you will find plenty to choose from in our Casino.
Toucan Diving
As mentioned above, this is the diving school situated at Kontiki Beach. Never made a dive before? No problem, Toucan Diving will happily arrange your lessons. Of course we can also offer more advanced or specialized courses for the more experienced diver, perhaps a night dive or visit to an old shipwreck. If you prefer simply to dive together with your buddy, then stop by Toucan Diving and pick up your air or weights.

Toucan II
The hotel's catamaran, the Toucan II, is an excellent way to explore the island's hidden treasures unreachable by car. Our sunset trip takes you along the coast in the direction of Spanish Water and while enjoying some tasty snacks and iced beverages, your entertainer will point out some of the island's points of interest. Later the Toucan II will sail out to sea to fully enjoy the sunset. The harbor tour sails you around the St. Anna Bay. This is a very informative tour, which will leave you with a better idea of island policy, history and marine life. During a snorkel trip and the "Fun in the sun" tour you will really enjoy the sunshine and our underwater world. You have to see it to believe it!
